Simple to Make

Browning and breaking up the sausage is easy with this meat smasher. I'm not sure how I went years without it.

Layer the Ingredients

After cooking the meat and scrambling the eggs, it's time to layer the sausage, egg, and cheese. I've found that the best size baking dish to use is a 6x9, it fits the rolls perfectly.

Spread the Butter

This is what makes it delicious! Pour the butter and seasoning mixture over the tops of the rolls and bake for approximately 15 minutes.

Recipe

Equipment

  • 1 Skillet Large Skillet for browning meat and scrambling egg

  • 1 6x9 Baking Dish Medium Baking Dish for Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 Package Neese's Hot Sausage

  • 1 Package Hawaiian Rolls I get the savory butter but any will be great

  • 12 Slices White American Cheese Yes, you read that right, 12!

  • 3-5 Eggs Scrambled

  • 1/2 Stick Salted Butter

  • 1/8 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/8 tsp Onion Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Dried Parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. In a large non-stick skillet, cook sausage breaking up into little pieces until browned and fully cooked.

  3. While sausage is cooking, keep rolls together and slice to make a bottom sheet and a top sheet.

  4. Remove sausage, set it aside on a plate with a paper towel to absorb excess grease.

  5. Scramble eggs

  6. Layer it up! Place the bottom sheet of rolls in the baking dish, half the cheese slices, cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, the remaining half of cheese slices, then place the top sheet of rolls.

  7. Melt butter in a small bowl and stir in dried seasonings.

  8. Pour that goodness over the top on the rolls and bake on the middle rake for 13-15 minutes until the tops are light/medium brown.

If you have any leftover, we like to wrap them in foil and put them in the freezer for a quick breakfast during the week. Hope you enjoy these sausage egg and cheese rolls as much as we do!
