Fall Picnic Foods

In my opinion, the food for a picnic is the most important part.

I almost always will have a charcuterie plate for any picnic day. You want picnic foods that you enjoy eating.  If you don't like brie and salami, don't use them. There are no rules when it comes to the food ideas for picnics. Here I have a brie round, colby jack cubes, pepper jack squares, and a garlic and herb Boursin cheese. For the meats, I choose salami and prosciutto and then filled in the holes with crackers of your choice and fresh fruit. Instead of sandwiches, I choose to have burrata cheese on a bed of arugula  with roasted tomatoes, drizzled with truffle oil and served with crusty bread. Yum! If you're doing more of a brunch picnic, check out my Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Hawaiian Rolls.

Apples dipped in homemade caramel and apple cider mimosas made this fall picnic extra delicious.

Picnic Activities

Everything is a little more relaxing when the kids are entertained.

Fall equals pumpkins. I've never been a fan of carving pumpkins but my kids have painted a pumpkin every year. Bring white pumpkins, paper plates, paint brushes, paints, and BOOM entertained. And... you get some cute Fall decor to take home with you.

How To Set Up A Picnic

I like to set up a picnic extra cozy because on a nice day I could stay out there all day.

First, think about where you're going to sit. I like to have different levels of seating options. Blankets are a must and I love my Lounge Wagon because you can haul all your things and then fold one side down to make a seat. Other items that help you set up your picnic, a folding table, some comfy pillows, and of course a picnic basket. I can't keep plants alive, so I repurpose my hanging planters as dangling champagne holders. Works great!

I hope this post inspires you to get creative and have a wonderful time on your next Fall picnic.
